سرزمینِ قدس، قبلۂ اول کی بنا پر تمام اُمتِ مسلمہ کا مشترکہ اَثاثہ ہے۔ یہاں انبیاء کرام علیہم الصلوۃ والسلام کی کثرتِ بعثت کی بنا پر یہ ’’سرزمینِ انبیاء‘‘ بھی کہلاتی ہے۔ حضرت ابراہیم خلیل اللہ علیہ السلام کے صاحبزادہ حضرت اسحاق علیہ السلام سے حضرت یعقوب و یوسف، پھر حضرت موسیٰ، زکریا، یحییٰ ، دائود، سلیمان اور بنی اسرائیل کے آخری پیغمبر حضرت عیسیٰ علیہم الصلوۃ والسلام تک یہ خطہ انوارِ نبوت سے جگمگاتا رہا ہے۔ پیغمبرِ آخرالزماں خاتم النبیین آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بھی ہجرت کے بعد ایک مدت تک بحکمِ الٰہی ’’بیت المقدس‘‘ کی جانب رُخ کرکے نماز پڑھتے رہے ہیں، اسی لیے یہ مسلمانوں کا قبلۂ اول کہلاتا ہے۔
In the Quran, Allah (SWT) says:
﷽
سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَسْرَىٰ بِعَبْدِهِۦ لَيْلًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ إِلَى ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْأَقْصَا ٱلَّذِى بَـٰرَكْنَا حَوْلَهُۥ لِنُرِيَهُۥ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِنَآ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ
Glory be to the One Who took His servant ˹Muḥammad˺ by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque [Masjid al-Aqsa] whose surroundings We have blessed, so that We may show him some of Our signs.1 Indeed, He2 alone is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (17:1)
Just as Palestine is an Islamic issue on the basis of the injustices and crimes committed against Palestinians, so is it one because of its significance in Islamic tradition and history. It was governed by the prophets Dawud and Suleiman, is mentioned to us by Allah (SWT), and the Prophet ﷺ was sent there and then spoke of it in many ahadith.
